Radical Hindu nationalists believe that all Indians should be Hindus and, therefore, the country should be rid of any other religions – including Christianity. They use extensive violence to achieve this goal, particularly targeting Christians who come from a Hindu background.
In this episode of the Closer to the Fire podcast, host Greg Musselman reports on three recent acts of persecution against followers of Jesus in India, as well as an assault on a young believer that resulted in tragedy. The 16-year-old victim, Nitish Kumar from Bihar state, died on September 26th after being attacked with acid in late August.
Greg and his guest, Christian leader Nitin Sardar of Dinbandhu Ministries in Central India, also discuss the assault of three other Christians, including one pastor, at a police station in Raipur, the capital of India's Chhattisgarh state. In addition to describing how the country's anti-conversion laws are being used to exploit Christians, Nitin further explains what is behind the alarming increase of persecution.

Pray that indigenous Christians and foreign missionaries will minister in ways that do not hint at fraudulent conversions, unmasking the intentions behind the anti-conversion legislation. Intercede for India's leaders, that they may reign with justice and righteousness.
