"I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. Be as wary as serpents and harmless as doves."
~ Matthew 10:16 TLB

"The persecuted church, ultimately, is not a church of victims!
If faithful to scripture, they go forth in the power of God, believing that
suffering is not the worst thing that can happen to them." ~ Glenn Penner

Session A (10:30-11:30 am)

A1. Trauma Healing for the Persecuted
Session full - Not available

In this intimate setting, personal testimonies of faith through trial will be shared. With names and identities protected, permission has been given to reveal the trauma and experiences endured for Christ, as well as some examples of God's practical healing touch in the aftermath.

A2. Stretch or Starve?

What kind of Jesus follower do you want to be? What kind of follower does Jesus want you to be? Will you be a Christian who stretches and grows in difficult circumstances, or one who stalls and starves? This session will look at the expectations laid out in Matthew 10, and will be illustrated using examples of faithful believers with whom we are partnering; those who have set down their own ambitions, lifted up their cross and stepped in behind Jesus, together gaining momentum toward their reward.

A3. Loving Your Muslim Neighbour

Topics covered in this workshop will include an overview of basic Islam and its presence in Canada, practical ideas for loving a Muslim neighbour or co-worker, and what other churches in Canada and around the world are doing to reach out. Additionally, stories about people coming to faith in Christ will be shared, along with an opportunity to ask questions about Islam.

Session B (2:15-3:15 pm)

B1. Faith Comes by Hearing

How to hear the 'still small voice' of the Lord in the midst of a storm.

B2. North Korea - Q & A
Session Full - Not available

This workshop is formatted as an open forum dialogue. Pastor Foley does a masterful job weaving details of North Korean history, cultural and social understanding, while answering questions in a down-to-earth, engaging manner that brings insight...and a heart for the Korean people.

B3. Are We Our Brothers' Keeper?
Session full - Not available

"Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep" (Romans 12:15 ESV). Our brothers and sisters need more than "fair weathered" friends. Together, we can make a difference, reminding those who suffer that they are not forgotten.
