"Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds
of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let
the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?"
~ Isaiah 58:6 ESV
It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so this time my words will be few -- allowing the images to speak directly to your heart.
I first met the young men, pictured above, as boys whose lives were devastated from the Orissa State persecution of August 2008. Hindu militants demolished the homes and livelihoods of Christians in an attempt to drive them out of the state. Many children of these persecuted families scattered, attempting to hide from the attackers. Separated from their loved ones, a great number having also experienced the tragic loss of one or both parents in the attack, most of these children ended up in refugee camps alone and without hope.
With trusted ministry partners within India, The Voice of the Martyrs Canada responded to the needs of these orphaned children of Christian martyrs. What Satan had intended for evil in the lives of these young men, God has used for good as they seek to grow in Godly wisdom and stature.
Thank you for standing with us by remembering and sharing in the sufferings of our persecuted family. The impact of your investment in these young lives will be evident for years to come. And, for that, we can say, “Praise God!”
From all of us here at the Voice of the Martyrs Canada, we join our little brothers in praying that 2019 will be a year of unshakable joy and blessing as you continue to seek ways in which to serve our Lord and King.
Grace and peace,
