Held captive in Afghanistan

In 2001, Heather and others on her ministry team were arrested by the Taliban for sharing the gospel in Afghanistan. They were tried for a capital crime and miraculously released through prayer and help from the U.S. military. Her story is told in the book Prisoners of Hope. Since 2003, Heather has focused her work on the Kurdish region of Iraq, where she has launched several church-planting initiatives.
