Pastor Murdered in Peshawar

Pastor Sajid William (29) was shot and killed by an unidentified masked assailant while he was on his way home in Peshawar on January 17. Pastor William was active in evangelistic work and was the office manager for the Christian relief and development agency Shelter Now. He is survived by his wife and 18-month old daughter.

Pray for God's comfort for Pastor William's family. Pray that his wife and child will know the Lord as their Father and Defender (Psalm 68:5). Ask God to embolden Pakistani Christians to follow his example of faithfulness (1 Corinthians 4:9-14,16).

  • Pray for Pakistan

Pray that amendments will be made to Pakistan's existing blasphemy laws so that the country's citizens – including its children – will be protected from injustice and abuse. May our Lord's mercy and justice prevail, not only in the judiciary system but also in the hearts of the country's militants. Ask Him to transform their "hearts of stone" into hearts that are receptive to His love, mercy and the workings of His Holy Spirit – not only for the purpose of protecting the Christian minority but also for the salvation of their own eternal souls.
