Thank you for your continued faithfulness, compassion and partnership in praying for our Christian brothers and sisters who suffer persecution for the sake of righteousness. This week's special video edition of the Persecution & Prayer Alert focusses on the importance of prayer.

“Year 2024 in Review”

Throughout the year of 2024, VOMC's Persecution & Prayer Alert reports continued to call attention to the current challenges being encountered by Christians in different countries of the world. Considering that these persecuted believers were experiencing serious forms of suffering for their faith – whether it be imprisonment, the threat of death, and/or other situations of concern – the prayers of God's people have been both timely and critical.

In this week's specially produced year-end video report, host Greg Musselman interviews Anita Hanna, who serves as the Manager of International Ministry for the Voice of the Martyrs Canada. We encourage you to listen to their discussion as they address four of the international nations that were featured most frequently throughout the year in the ministry's weekly Persecution & Prayer Alert reports.

During the interview, Greg and Anita also discuss the various ways in which VOMC is providing for the immediate needs of those experiencing persecution. Hear how our Christian brothers and sisters in Pakistan, India, Nigeria and Iran have received urgently needed assistance.

On behalf of VOMC's ministry team, we greatly appreciate your faithful prayers for these believers and so many others who have been encountering persecution in their respective countries. By engaging in prayer for them, you are aptly heeding the words of Hebrews 13:3.

  • Pray for Pakistan

Pray that amendments will be made to Pakistan's existing blasphemy laws so that the country's citizens – including its children – will be protected from injustice and abuse. May our Lord's mercy and justice prevail, not only in the judiciary system but also in the hearts of the country's militants. Ask Him to transform their "hearts of stone" into hearts that are receptive to His love, mercy and the workings of His Holy Spirit – not only for the purpose of protecting the Christian minority but also for the salvation of their own eternal souls.

In the early morning hours of September 7th, a van carrying as many as 18 Catholics was travelling to a pilgrimage site in Mariamabad when three young men on motorbikes intercepted the vehicle by swerving in front of it. The motorcyclists had noticed a cross and Christian posters on the outside of the travelling van.
