    On August 12th, a bill was passed by the Jharkhand Assembly which will directly affect the religious freedoms of Christians. Despite receiving significant opposition from religious groups, the Jharkhand Freedom of Religion Bill-2017 has now been sent to the governor, whose approval precedes the president's review for final assent.

    After a period of relative calm, the Far North region of Cameroon, along the Nigerian border, has witnessed an upsurge of attacks by Boko Haram. On August 17th, a church elder was killed in a night raid carried out by the militant Islamic group on Moskota village. Adamu Nguda, formerly a church elder in Mouldougwa, had been previously displaced to live as an "internally displaced person" in Moskota. Adamu's killers also kidnapped his six children -- who are between the ages of three and 15 -- leaving his wife behind in a state of total shock.

  • Persecuted but Not Forgotten

    As members of the Hmong tribal group, Hien and his wife Binh were accustomed to worshipping ancestors and giving "gifts" to the village witch doctor to appease the spirits. But when one of Hien's own children became demon-possessed, he took him to visit a Christian pastor. This pastor prayed over Hien's son and he was healed. After witnessing such a miraculous event, Hien decided to become a follower of Jesus Christ.
