Nigeria: Martyred Pastor’s Widow Continues His Ministry
Yohanna Shuaibu pastored the New Life Gospel Church in Nigeria’s Kano State. His ministry, which included telling Muslims about Jesus, attracted the attention of Islamic militants who were determined to silence the father of six. On September 23rd, 2021, a Muslim mob attacked and killed Yohanna. That day, his wife Hannatu was able to hide under a bed along with her children, preventing them from being killed as well. Hannatu deeply misses her husband, whom she acknowledges was a Godly and good man. Yet, with the Lord’s help, this Nigerian widow has resolved to faithfully continue Yohanna’s ministry by reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
